Nicholas Ansted told me,"yes essentially, an internship where I worked in a laboratory... I started it 2 years ago, intermittently during breaks."
"... I ran test using PCR machine... essentially just genetic testing, " said Ansted.
"I'm really interested in the medical field. I want to end up as a doctor so, I figured it's nice to build bridges. The doctor who runs the lab specializes in HIV research and I have a lot of background in infectious diseases in terms of past family history. I grew up in a medical family," said Ansted.
"I wouldn't consider [the internship] accessible to college students, so originally it came from this program called the Volker Scholarship, which was for high school students to learn medical practices essentially," said Ansted.
"Oh yeah, for sure," said Ansted.
"I wouldn't say so, just with time commitment, but that comes with any job," said Ansted.
