Camelia Juarez, a San Antonio native who is a sophomore at Texas State University studying journalism, aspires to work at BuzzFeed as a journalist.

Camelia currently holds a leadership position as an Assistant Director for the Blog Content department at Texas State’s radio station, KTSW. She is also out and about in San Marcos interviewing citizens and writing article’s as a News Reporter for the radio station as well. She loves writing national news and putting it in a youth perspective. What inspires her to become a journalist is being able to write and share about people’s stories and background because they are so different. One article that she is proud of writing was about a Doll-maker who made dolls with prosthetic limbs for children that have a prosthetic. Once Camelia’s article got published, the Doll-maker emailed her saying that an organization wanted to fund the Doll-maker.

From interviewing people all over San Marcos to editing soundbites on Adobe Audition, Camelia has grown as a writer and hopes that more opportunities come her way as she conquers the field.
