Nicole Cavender is a senior at Texas State University where she hopes to receive a bachelor's degree in mass communication with a focus on public relations and a minor in English.

She was born and raised in Houston, Texas to a Colombian mother, Adriana, and a native-Texan father, John. Nicole has one older brother, Thomas, to whom she is very close. As a native Houstonian, she thoroughly enjoys attending any professional sports game whether it be courtside at the Toyota Center, eating hot dogs at Minute Maid Park or cheering for J.J. Watt at NRG Stadium. 

In September 2017, Nicole began an apprenticeship at Snackbox, a boutique public relations firm based in Austin, Texas. She will be mentored by the founders of this firm.

When Nicole isn’t busy with school and work, she can be found exploring the hills of both San Marcos and Austin. She loves to experience the outdoors with her boyfriend, Ben, and his golden retriever, Bus. Other activities that take up her free time are discovering new restaurants and enjoying a new movie in theaters.
